The Stewardship Council is composed of 7 members "of good reputation, full of the spirit and wisdom" elected by the body in accordance with Acts 6:2-3. The Council meets monthly to pray over the church's stewardship, maintain accountability of expenditures, and to assure that the direction of the finances continues to align with the vision of the church.
Pastor Phil, his wife Carol, and their three children, started in Bixby over 18 years ago when New Beginnings was meeting in a downtown Bixby store front. As a result of God's blessings, New Beginnings has become one of the fastest growing churches in Oklahoma. Pastor Phil graduated from Tulsa East Central High School (1978), and Tulsa University (1982). After serving for 11 years as a Student Pastor, at the age of twenty-nine Phil began to pastor his first church in Edgewater, Colorado. Phil received a Master’s Degree from Denver Theological Seminary (1994) and completed his doctorate in Missions and Evangelism at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2012. Phil and Carol are honored to serve God in a Kingdom minded church, with joy and longevity.
Terry has been a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church since 2005. Terry began his role as Business Administrator in May of 2007. Terry spent two years working with a mentor and in prayer regarding his God-given purpose prior to taking the position as Business Administrator. He feels he has been called to the ministry of Business Administration for New Beginnings. Terry has more than 20 years of business experience, working for two Fortune 500 corporations, holding various positions in management and marketing. He is also owner of The Langenberg Group, Inc., a marketing consulting business with his wife Monica. Terry and Monica have two daughters and two sons, Larissa, Bridgette, Karis and Kenny.
John has been a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church since 1996. John began serving in music ministry at New Beginnings in 1997 and became the full time Pastor of Worship Arts in the fall of 2005. He has a passion for sharing his gifts of music and worship. John and his wife Missy have two children, Kara and Cole. They live in the Bixby community.

Todd has been a member of New Beginnings since October of 2010 and a full time staff member since April of 2011, the opening of the new facility. Todd works behind the scenes on Sundays wearing a headset and communicating with the production team. The website, advertising, graphic art, signage, and videography are all part of the job of Creative Arts Director. Todd was homeschooled from first through twelfth grade and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Arts: Cinematography at John Brown University. He lives in Mounds and is married to Jessica. They are raising three blessings Afton, Finn, Ronan, and Teagan.

After working with NBC student ministry for nearly five years in a part-time capacity, Matt joined the full-time staff in August of 2011. He has served as our Youth and Children Ministry Coordinator, Family Pastor of Middle School, Family Pastor of High School, and is currently fulfilling the role of Associate Pastor of Missions and Students. Matt spent the previous 7 years working in the public school system as a teacher and coach. Prior to that, he studied and played baseball at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, graduating in December of 2003. Matt is planning to graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the spring of 2017 with his MTS (Master of Theological Studies). He is passionate about the gospel and seeing families of all nations transformed by its power. Matt and his wife Brittany make their home in Jenks with their four children, Brooks, Chandler, Matilyn, and Charlotte.

Mike, or Krebs as most people call him, is the newest staff member at New Beginnings. A native Tulsan, Mike joined the NB team in September of 2014. Mike graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah with a Bachelor's in Science (Kinesiology) and a minor in Psychology. Mike played football for Northeastern State University and went on to become the assistant strength coach at NSU for 5 years. While in college, Mike encountered the Lord and fell in love with this Jesus guy and His message. It was also in college that he met the other love of his life, his wife Jessica. Mike was an intern for several summers at Grace Baptist Church in Tahlequah and spent three years as a camp counselor for kids & teens at The Salvation Army Camp in Welling, OK. In his time as a coach at NSU, Mike was devoted to building genuine relationships with the athletes he was training, giving him many opportunities to share Christ. For the past 5 years, meeting with college students and athletes, teaching them the Word and the life of Christ were Mike's primary ministry. He and his wife had an "open door" policy with their home and spent many hours pouring into the lives of lost and needy students, from making dinner to giving them a place to sleep. Mike has begun his Master’s of Divinity degree with an emphasis on Missions through the The Billy Graham School of Missions with The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Mike and his wife have a heart for people through life on life discipleship and seeing the nations come to know the Hope of Christ. He is a man's man, with a love of the outdoors, strong coffee and building projects that involve awesome, loud power tools. Mike and Jess have been married 4 1/2 years and live in the bustling suburb of Broken Arrow with their sweet, spunky one-year-old daughter, Evelyn.

Sankie joined the New Beginnings staff in August of 2013. Sankie and Jamie spent three years in a church plant in NW Arkansas, then two years as missions mobilizers on The Traveling Team before becoming the Pastor of Twentysomethings/College and Small Group Ministries at Grace Baptist Church in Tahlequah for the last eight years. Sankie received his BA in Mental Health Psychology from NSU and is finishing up his Master’s of Divinity through The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Sankie has spent over a decade focused on the theology of discipleship. He enjoys reading, studying, teaching, and writing about theology and discipleship. His desire is to see Jesus captivating hearts starting in his own home in Bixby with he, Jamie, their three boys, Sankie II, Owen, and Jackson and spreading to the ends of the earth.

April joined the New Beginnings team in July of 2013. She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University with a degree in Business Administration. She enjoys making crafts and selling items on her Etsy shop, baking new cupcake recipes from Pinterest, and loves any items that are miniature! April and her husband Clinton make their home in Kellyville with their son, Connor, and are welcoming another little boy in May 2017.
Brenda Newman joined the New Beginnings team in January of 2013 soon after returning to the Tulsa metro from Dallas, TX. For 10 years, Brenda owned and operated Financial Streams, a faith based business focused on Financial Management and Budget Coaching for businesses and fiscally upscale individuals. She is also a trained Dave Ramsey Coach. Brenda had her first financial position at the age of 13 as a bookkeeper for her father’s independent trucking business. She and her husband Gary, also spent 20 years in ministry leadership and Brenda has been involved with church finance since early in her career. She and Gary live in Bixby and have three grown children.
Whitney Hall attended the University of Tulsa, where she majored in Spanish. She has been married to Mike for 8 years and they have a 4 year old son named Brayden. She spent 10 years working as a pharmacy tech before having Brayden. After staying home with him for a year and a half, she had the opportunity to begin teaching at ELC in September 2013. In August of 2015, she began working part time as one of the preschool coordinators for the Genesis Preschool area of New Beginnings' children's ministry.
Linda, the part-time administrative assistant, moved to the United States in 1991 from Panama, where she was born and raised. She is married to George, has three lovely daughters, two amazing son-in-laws, and is grandmother to 5 precious grandchildren. Linda and George live nearby on a small farm. Linda is currently working on a degree in Social Work, is a certified Chaplain and has plans to minister to women in prisons and assist in disaster relief areas. Linda enjoys serving in any capacity at New Beginnings.
