High School

Our desire is to come alongside parents and guardians as a trusted resource in the discipleship process of students. As a ministry, NB High School longs to create an environment where students can transparently seek the God of the Universe through authentic worship and faithful Bible teaching. We seek to facilitate an atmosphere of genuine fellowship and community that leads to transformed lives, fulfilled through missional intentionality. In short, we aim to embrace the hope of the Gospel and make much Christ in all that we do.

Sunday Class

Sundays at 9:30a in the Loft. Curriculum: The Gospel Project

Our Sunday morning Bible study follows an oratory, storytelling approach where we start our session by verbally articulating the focal point of the text in story form. We next examine the specific passage of Scripture to see what was missed or added. Then we piece by piece reconstruct the story, discussing the significant details that are worth noting along the way. And finally, we dialogue about what we learned about God and ourselves through the story, as well as the implications this may have upon our lives. This semester we will spend most of our time in Genesis, examining and highlighting key events from the lives of the Patriarchs – Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Wednesdays at 6:30p in the Loft. (Though 10-12th Grade Groups meet in classrooms on the third floor of NBC, we all meet in the Loft first for Worship through song.

This is an excellent way to for students to get connected. Our Wednesday evenings consist of Bible teaching, corporate worship through song and prayer, and conclude with small group discussions (on-campus d-groups for high schoolers). These groups look to dialogue and pray over our weekly Scripture, while also discussing its points of application and personal implications. This winter we will be digging into the New Testament book of James. This study will give us the opportunity to practically apply the implications of the gospel into our daily lives. What is God’s purpose in our enduring life’s trials? Where do temptations come from? What is the difference between doers and hearers? If we are saved by grace, what then is the role of works? How powerful is the tongue? What do our words reveal about our heart? We will explore these topics and many others during the first half of this spring semester. For more details about the specific passages we will be covering weekly, sign-up for our monthly parent email.
